The nickname “Raptor” comes from the carrier-based A-6 Intruder’s official name, which was “Raptor.” The F-22 was designed to be faster and more advanced than the F-15, and its stealth capabilities give it an edge over all other fighter jets. Thanks to its shape, the F-22 has a radar cross-section and infrared signature that is much lower than any other jet, making it harder to detect.
